Making a Mark
at Haggerston
When Mark Heard He Had
the Job His Eyes Nearly Popped Out of His Head
It
was a Monday morning as usual, an other week of training for employment, but
with just one tiny difference. Mark had been told that there was a job going at
Haggerston Castle and he decided to go for it. A quick phone call and he had an
interview at 2pm that day. A quiet chat with the trainer and a lift was
arranged.
So it came to pass
that on a sunny Monday, Mark headed for Haggerston to meet the Leisure Manager.
On arrival it was obvious why staff were urgently needed, the place was jumping
with holiday makers. At 2pm Mark entered the leisure complex and an hour later
emerged as an employee.
'Can you start at
work at 5 o'clock - today?'
'Gulp, Yes!',
replied Mark as he started to look like a character from 'Roger Rabbit'.
Easy as that Mark
was in employment in the arcade looking after part of the busiest unit Bourne
Leisure have in the country, part of a team of staff providing a service for the
hundreds of customers who use the facility every day.
One week on Mark
is enjoying the work, a six day week - 4pm 'til 10pm, subsidised meals and a
healthy pay packet make it all worth while. The knowledge that he is working for
a large company willing to offer training and opportunities for promotion makes
things even more interesting.
Just goes to prove
that E2E does works, watch this space for an update.
