Quality
of Life Survey of Berwick on Tweed!

In summary the majority of people in Berwick
consider the town to be safe with a degree of interest for visitors, however the
facilities within the town are out of date, failing to support the needs of
residents both young and old. The town needs an injection of get up and go to
wake it up to the 21st century!
Introduction
The
group from E2E decided to do a survey around Berwick Upon Tweed to find out what
the town really thought of itself and its surroundings. There was five people
involved; David, Matty, Jon James (JJ), Graeme and Gaileah.
We done a total of 43 survey’s that consisted of 12 deeply
thought of questions about Berwick and also we asked 3 questions that where
slightly personal but we didn’t give the persons identity away so they where
willing to give us the information.
The questions used were thought about so we could retrieve
information about how people feel about Berwick and the people involved in it.
They where things like what do you think about Berwick’s tourism, and various
things like that and the final question was what would you like to see change in
Berwick?
Methodology
The
group decided to prepare a survey that would include questions that would be
quantatitive and qualatitive about Berwick and the opportunities it has to offer
for the public. Questions such as; do you enjoy living in Berwick? Are the shops
good enough? These questions were discussed and we decided that they should be
used as they were relevant to our survey.
We had now put the survey together; however, we noticed we
had a few mistakes in the questions and some grammatical errors. As a group we
corrected these mistakes and printed out our complete survey ready to go.
As we now had a compete survey we decided to do some practice
surveys within the group. This was done to get the surveyors the right technique
rather than go up to an elderly person at full speed and press the survey onto
her/him. It also provided a chance for the group to work as a team.
We were now going to go out and conduct our survey but as a
group of five we decided to split into two groups; one of two and one of three
because it doesn’t take five people to survey one person. We carried out a total
of forty-three surveys to different age groups to get a representative total of
Berwick and areas around Berwick.

refurbished because it doesn’t have many things to do to get teenagers involved.
