In Space A short story for children written by Nichola
Moffat
About Nichola:
Raised just south of Berwick Upon Tweed,
Nichola Moffat began writing at the age of fourteen when a school project forced
her to enter the Berwick’s Brilliant…essay competition in 2006.
Incidentally she came first in her age group.
Having found her passion she then went on to
enter more competitions. In August 2008 she won yet another competition and by
December that year her short story Child of the Inferno was being
distributed across the country in the anthology Tall Tales and Short Stories.
At sixteen she began work on her debut novel High Voltage Smile which was
completed in January 2009 and seen into print that April. Feeling the characters
had a bigger story to tell though she began to work on her second novel whilst
still completing her first. This follow on story, A Regret… And A Promise,
was released for print in August.
Since then Nichola has been guest at several
reading group meetings and has organised her own book signing. Finding life
without words a bore though, Nichola, now seventeen, has began on her third
novel Time’s Children which will hopefully be finished in time for the
new year.
