Can
You Provide a Work Placement or
Training Opportunity?
What
is E2E?
E2E is designed to help school leavers and young people 16-18
years of age who are not yet ready or able to go into further education,
employment or training.
Who Runs E2E?
E2E, among many educational and
training initiatives, is funded by the local Learning Skills Council who monitors
the effectiveness of the
programme run by Bridges 2 Work
Who can
Take Part in E2E?
Any 16 to 18 year
old not in employment or in any form of post 16 year old education or training.
The Programme:
E2E
recognises that many young people need extra support to assist them into
employment. Some young people can progress quickly after school. Some have more
complex needs. Candidates commit to training for a minimum of 16 up to 30 hours
per week in two elements:
-
Training
in basic and key skills, personal development and vocational skills, work
placements.
-
Programmes
designed to provide additional support tailored to individual needs and both
career and personal interests.
Work Placement:
Having identified a
career track for a young person we will look for local businesses willing to
give that young person a chance to get on in life by having some work experience
in placements. The placements are integral to developing a young persons
vocational knowledge, basic and key skills and understanding of the requirements
of the work environment. Placements are central to giving a young learner the
experience they need to secure a full time job.
What do The Learners Want
From You?
Few of us knew what
we wanted from life at 16 years of age. Many of our young people have no
qualifications, varied personal and life experiences, but all have the potential
to be achievers. All they need is a chance, that’s all. A chance to experience a
spell in work, maybe two weeks, maybe two months or more. Each experience giving
the young person a flavour of the work environment, letting them test, without
pressure, whether this is what they want to do for the rest of their lives.
What Will it Cost You to Take on an E2E Learner?
A bit of time,
candidates are supported by Northumberland Training Agency and can receive an
Educational Maintenance Allowance and travel expenses to and from work.
